Payla\u015f\u0131mda, &#8220;Can\u0131m hocam\u0131z, edebiyat\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n duygulu ve g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc kalemi, e\u015fsiz insan, bir tanemiz Mario Levi&#8217;yi kaybetmenin derin \u00fcz\u00fcnt\u00fcs\u00fc i\u00e7erisindeyiz. T\u00fcm sevenlerine ve ailesine ba\u015fsa\u011fl\u0131\u011f\u0131 diliyoruz&#8221; denildi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;\u0130stanbul Bir Masald\u0131&#8221;, &#8220;En G\u00fczel A\u015fk Hikayemiz&#8221;, &#8220;Bir \u015eehre Gidememek&#8221;, &#8220;Lunapark Kapand\u0131&#8221; ve &#8220;Size Pandispanya Yapt\u0131m&#8221; dahil bir\u00e7ok esere imza atan Levi, T\u00fcrk\u00e7eyi ana dili olarak tan\u0131mlayan, b\u00fct\u00fcn bir ya\u015fam ve edebiyat\u0131n\u0131 T\u00fcrk\u00e7e \u00fczerinden kurgulayan, geli\u015ftiren, anlamland\u0131ran bir yazard\u0131r \u00f6ncelikle. Kendisinin bir s\u00f6yle\u015fide dile getirdi\u011fi \u015fu ifadeler onun dil ve \u00f6zellikle T\u00fcrk\u00e7e ile olan ili\u015fkisini do\u011frudan ortaya koymas\u0131 bak\u0131m\u0131ndan bir t\u00fcr anahtar olarak g\u00f6r\u00fclebilir.T\u00fcrk\u00e7e&#8217;ye sevgisini \u015f\u00f6yle a\u00e7\u0131klam\u0131\u015ft\u0131:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Frans\u0131zca yazabilirdim. Zor yolu se\u00e7tim belki ama kendi do\u011fall\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7inde geli\u015fti bu. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc \u00e7ocukken sokakta hangi dilde top oynam\u0131\u015fsan, gen\u00e7ken hangi dilde ilk a\u015fk\u0131n\u0131 ya\u015fam\u0131\u015fsan, \u00e7ok k\u0131zd\u0131\u011f\u0131nda hangi dilde s\u00f6vmek geliyorsa i\u00e7inden, o dil senin dilindir ve o dil T\u00fcrk\u00e7eydi. O sebepledir ki, kendime hep \u015funu s\u00f6yl\u00fcyorum, benim en derin vatan\u0131m T\u00fcrk\u00e7edir.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1957 do\u011fumlu Mario Levi, b\u00fct\u00fcn hayat\u0131n\u0131 edebiyata, T\u00fcrk\u00e7eye ve \u0130stanbul\u2019a vakfetmi\u015f; denebilir ki b\u00fct\u00fcn bir hayat\u0131n\u0131 bu \u00fc\u00e7 de\u011fer \u00fczerine kurmu\u015f, kurmaktan da b\u00fcy\u00fck bir keyif alm\u0131\u015f yazarlardand\u0131r. Kaleme ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 kitaplar, verdi\u011fi s\u00f6yle\u015filer, metinler, makaleler, notlar, yaz\u0131lar\u2026 Hemen hepsi bu \u00fc\u00e7 ba\u015fl\u0131k etraf\u0131nda toplan\u0131p derlenebilir. Saint Michel Lisesi (1975), \u0130stanbul \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nde Frans\u0131z ve Roman Filolojisi (1980) okudu. \u0130stanbul\u2019da yay\u0131mlanan Musevi gazetesi \u201c\u015ealom\u201dun k\u00fclt\u00fcr-sanat sayfas\u0131n\u0131 y\u00f6netti (1984). Bu s\u00fcre i\u00e7inde gazetecilik dahil, \u00e7e\u015fitli i\u015flerde \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131, geziler yapt\u0131. \u201cLunapark Kapand\u0131\u201d adl\u0131 kitab\u0131 2005 y\u0131l\u0131nda yay\u0131mland\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eserlerinde daha \u00e7ok \u0130stanbul\u2019daki az\u0131nl\u0131klar\u0131n sorunlar\u0131n\u0131 anlatt\u0131. \u201c\u0130stanbul Bir Masald\u0131\u201d roman\u0131yla kendi bireysel tarihini yeniden in\u015fa etti\u011fini belirten Levi, \u0130stanbul\u2019da ya\u015fam\u0131\u015f, k\u00fclt\u00fcrel, etnik, dini bir az\u0131nl\u0131k co\u011frafyas\u0131n\u0131 \u2018masal olmayan\u2019 \u0130stanbul\u2019u anlatmay\u0131 ama\u00e7lad\u0131. Bu amac\u0131n\u0131; \u201c\u0130stanbul benim i\u00e7in bir masal de\u011fil. Ama romandaki o insanlar \u0130stanbul\u2019u zaman zaman bir masal olarak g\u00f6rd\u00fcler. Kendilerinden kopan, kendilerinden kopar\u0131lan hayatlar\u0131 an\u0131msad\u0131klar\u0131ndan, belki bir zamanlar ya\u015fam\u0131\u015f olduklar\u0131 \u0130stanbul\u2019u bir masal olarak g\u00f6rd\u00fcler. Bendeki \u0130stanbul, hem onlar\u0131n masallar\u0131yla, hem de bendeki ger\u00e7e\u011fiyle ya\u015f\u0131yor.
