\u0130T\u00dc \u0130n\u015faat Fak\u00fcltesi’nde y\u00fcksek \u00f6\u011frenimini tamamlad\u0131ktan sonra 1956 ve 1957 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda Amerika’da uzmanl\u0131k e\u011fitimi ald\u0131. T\u00fcrkiye’ye d\u00f6nd\u00fckten sonra ODT\u00dc’de \u00f6\u011fretim \u00fcyeli\u011fi g\u00f6revinde bulundu. 1965’te kendisine profes\u00f6r unvan\u0131 verildi ve Devlet Mimarl\u0131k ve M\u00fchendislik Akademisi’nde \u00f6\u011fretim g\u00f6revlisi olarak yerald\u0131. Siyasete at\u0131larak Milli Selamet Partisi’ne girdi ve 1973 ile 1977 se\u00e7imlerinde ayn\u0131 partiden iki kere Erzurum milletvekili se\u00e7ildi. 1974’te CHP-MSP koalisyon H\u00fck\u00fcmetinde ve 1975’te kurulan I. Milliyet\u00e7i Cephe H\u00fck\u00fcmeti’nde G\u0131da Tar\u0131m ve Hayvanc\u0131l\u0131k Bakan\u0131, 1977’deki II. Milliyet\u00e7i Cephe H\u00fck\u00fcmeti’ndeyse \u0130\u00e7i\u015fleri Bakan\u0131 olarak g\u00f6rev ald\u0131. 12 Eyl\u00fcl 1980 Darbesi sonras\u0131 siyasi hayattan \u00e7ekildi. 25 Eyl\u00fcl 1980’de ge\u00e7irdi\u011fi a\u011f\u0131r bir trafik kazas\u0131n\u0131n etkilerinden uzun s\u00fcre kurtulamad\u0131. \u0130yile\u015ftikten sonra ticarete at\u0131larak ekonomik anlamda \u00f6nemli ba\u015far\u0131 sa\u011flad\u0131. A\u011fabeyi Turgut \u00d6zal’\u0131n cumhurba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6revini y\u00fcr\u00fctmekteyken, \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcnden sonra yeniden siyasete at\u0131larak Anavatan Partisi’ne girdi ve 1995 se\u00e7imlerinde ANAP’tan \u0130stanbul milletvekili se\u00e7ildi. TBMM \u0130\u00e7i\u015fleri Komisyonu Ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve AG\u0130T T\u00fcrkiye Parlamento Grubu Ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6revlerinde bulundu. 1997’de kurulan Anasol-D H\u00fck\u00fcmeti’ne ba\u015fta g\u00fcvenoyu vermesine ra\u011fmen, bu h\u00fck\u00fcmetin ANAP politikalar\u0131na ters icraatler i\u00e7erisine girdi\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnerek muhalif bir tutum ald\u0131. Parti i\u00e7erisindeki muhalefetinin sonu\u00e7suz kalmas\u0131 \u00fczerine, 13 A\u011fustos 1997’de partiden istifa etti. Yeniden kurulmu\u015f olan Demokrat Parti’ye girerek, 28 Eyl\u00fcl 1997 tarihinde toplanan Demokrat Parti kongresinde partinin genel ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131na se\u00e7ildi. 22 Mart 2001’de Demokrat Parti’nin genel ba\u015fkanl\u0131\u011f\u0131ndan ayr\u0131ld\u0131.<\/p>\n
